Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information HitReader collects when you visit hitreader.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you acknowledge this policy.
1. Who we are
HitReader ("we", "us") operates hitreader.com. For questions about privacy, see the contact note at the end of this page or the About page.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide: if you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and comment text you submit. If you have an author account, we store account profile details you provide (such as username, email, bio, and avatar).
Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider (for example Google Cloud Run) and any CDN/proxy (such as Cloudflare) may automatically process IP address, browser type, request URLs, and timestamps in server or security logs.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what you choose to submit in comments or profiles.
3. How we use information
We use information to operate and improve the Site, publish and moderate comments, secure the service against abuse, and communicate about your account when needed.
Comment emails are used for moderation context and are not sold to third parties. We do not run a third-party advertising network on the Site.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for core features such as login sessions and security (for example CSRF protection). Cloudflare or our host may also set cookies related to security and performance.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent login or form submission from working correctly.
5. Storage and processors
Site data may be stored and processed using cloud providers such as Google Cloud (application hosting, database, and media storage). Uploaded images may be served from cloud object storage.
These providers process data under their own terms and security controls. We configure access so that only what is needed to run HitReader is exposed.
6. Retention
Published comments and account data are kept while the Site operates and the content remains relevant, unless you ask us to remove them where applicable. Server logs are retained according to our host's defaults or our operational needs.
7. Your choices
You may request correction or deletion of a comment you submitted, or of personal data we hold about you, by contacting us through the channels listed below. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Author account holders can update profile information from the Profile page when logged in.
8. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Site after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
If you have questions about these terms or our practices, reach out via the HitReader Facebook page linked in the site footer, or contact the site author through the About page.
