Semaglutide, proteomics, and a lower 5-year dementia risk signal
A post hoc analysis of the SELECT trial reports that semaglutide 2.4 mg reduced increases in a 25-protein plasma dementia risk signature (dSST), translating to ~26% lower modeled 5-year dementia event rate vs placebo. The result is biologically suggestive, not a clinical dementia diagnosis outcome.
